Resolved, That the' proper city offi-
cers 'are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in the Department
of City•Pianning for extra employment
as described in the resolution.

WHEREAS, the Mayor (Department of City Planning) has reported,
in accordance with Section 52 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from September 16, 1963 to
September 30, 1963 which rendered necessary the employment of
certain employees of the Bureau of City Planning for more than
eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the follow-
ing work:
(1) For the Board of Education, Division of Special Services,
correcting the school district map and preparing the art work
for printing the revised map
And whereas, this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
There ties an urgent need for this map and the current work
load of the Bureau of City Planning was such that utilizing over-
time work was the only way in which this map could be prepared
expeditiously. Preparation of art work for color reproduction
requires special knowledge and is an exacting process dn-d the
staff technician capable of doing this work agreed to prepare
the necessary drawings working on week - ends. The Board of Educa-
tion agreed to pay for the overtime services of the planning tech-
nician involved.

hereby authorized to

Ordinance No. 6446.
