Hon. Council
City of Saint Paul
Gentlemen:
This department has completed an inspection of the one story
frame commercial building and small ice house known as 860
Thomas Avenue and 597 Victoria Street-on Lots 1 and 2, Block
1, Victoria Street Addition to Saint Paul.
The main building is 48 x 40 x 12, formerly occupied as a
grocery store and one room occupied as a TV Repair Shop. The
buildings are rat infested, rotted at the grade line. There
is no useable plumbing. Oil space heaters were used with a
265 gallon oil tank, which is leaking and has saturated the
ground in the attached shed.
These buildings are dilapidated and dangerous to life, limb,
and adjoining property and should be-wrecked and removed. Dan-
ger Notices have been posted.
The last known owner is Ben Shear, 7202 Washington Avenue, New
Orleans 25, Louisiana.
Kindly institute condemnation action in accordance with Sec-
tion 1.07 -2 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code.
Yours truly, ,
L
