WHEREAS, the Great Central Insurance Company of Saint Paul,
who is the insurer of the Gene Wagner Construction Company, now
engaged as general contractor on the Mount Airy Elementary School,
has issued draft No. 7+73 in the amount of $35.15 payable to
Gene Wagner Construction Company and the City of St. Paul to
reimburse said construction company for damage done by vandals
to said company's work shack,at the Mount Airy Elementary School
site; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has no interest in this
draft; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the proper officers of the City of Saint Paul
are hereby authorized and directed to endorse said check and deliver
the same to the Gene Wagner Construction Company.

The Finance Department has in its possession a check, #7473, dated
July 8, 1963, in the amount of $35.15. This check was drafted by the
Great Central Insurance Company of St. Paul, Minnesota in favor of
Gene Wagner Construction Co., Inc, and the City of St. Paul.
A Mr. Roy Spannaus of Gene Wagner Construction Company explained that
this is a claim check for damage to a construction shack used at
l Mt. Airy Elementary School. This damage was done by vandals.
Mr. Spannaus stated the shack was repaired, and he would like the city
to endorse the check over to them.
I have talked to Neil Convery in regard to this matter., He will check
with Mr. Gil Silverman of the Education Department to see if the city
has any apparent interest.
If the city has no interest in this check, would you please draft a
resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Finance to endorse said
check payable to Gene Wagner Construction Company? Mr. Convery has
a sample resolution. We request a copy be sent to the Commissioner
of Finance when the council has acted on this matter.
