Resolved, That the proper City offi-
cers are hereby authorized to pay
certain employes in-the Department of
Public Safety, Bureau '-of Police, for
extra employment as described in the
resolution.

14 EREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in accord-
ance with Section 53 of the (City Charter, the existence of an emer-
gency during the period from July 1, 1963 to July 31, 1963, which
rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the De-
partment of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or
forty hours per week, in doing the following work:
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
TMREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep current rec-
ords up to date.
THEREFORE BE 1'P RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accord-
ante with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
