VMREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety, has reported in accordance with Section 53
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from July 1, 1963
to July 310 19630 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty, hours per week,
in doing the following work=
Maintenance work in the Bureau of General Administration (Building Maintenance)
and
MREAS, this amergenoy arose by reason of the following facts and ciroumstanoes:
Maintaining a crew because of vacations, sweeping the parking lot at the Public
Safety Building and cleaning the cooling tower at the Public Health Center.
THEREFORE BE IT RESCLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Counoil'a
Salary Ordinance No* 6446.
