WHEREAS, the 1963 Session of the Legislature;pa'ssed If
Chapter 851, Laws of Minnesota for 1963, which is an Act Relating
to the City of Saint Paul; Providing for the Retirement of Employees,
Thereof in the Classified Service of the Civil Service Thereof;
Providing Certain Benefits Therefor and Authorizing the Levy of
Certain Taxes; and
WHEREAS, said law requires the approval of the governing
body of the City of Saint Paul, among other things, prior to be-
coming effective; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council of the City of
Saint Paul to provide those persons who would be compelled, upon
passage of said act, to retire from City employment with notice
of such impending compulsory retirement; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul by this
Resolution is hereby expressing a statement of intent that it will,
on or about the first day of July, 1964, approve and thereby effec-
tuate the provisions of the aforesaid Chapter 851, Laws of Minnesota
for 1963; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the ,City of Saint Paul wishes to
state expressly "that it is not by virtue of this Resolution either
approving or disapproving the aforesaid Chapter 851, Laws of Minnesota
for 1963,
Now, Therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby
expresses its intention to consider passage of Chapter 851, Laws of
Minnesota for 1963 and will approve said Act on or about the first
day of July, 1964; be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That the action of the Council herein
expressed is not for any purpose to be considered at this time either
approval or disapproval of said Chapter 851, Laws of Minnesota for
1963.
