WEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported in ` accordance' with Section 53 of
the City-Charter, the existence of an emergenoy during the period from September 1, 1963
to September 30, 1963, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,
In doing the following work:
Maintenance work in the Bureau of General Administrat ion (Building A,intenance)
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Washing down the cooling towerein the Public Health-Building twice, vacations
and because two men short on the crew since September 15.
THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the
employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance Ho, 6446,
