RESOLVED, that Macalester College be permitted to install
and operate a 46 -car capacity off - street parking facility for
students on property located on vacated Macalester Street between
Lincoln and Princeton Avenues in Saint Paul, as more fully described
as follows: the north 120 feet of Lot 6, Block 7, Macalester Park
Addition; all that part of vacated Macalester Avenue lying east and
adjacent to the north 120 feet of Lot 6, Block 7, Macalester Park
Addition and the south 120 feet of the north 1,284.4 feet of the west
75 feet of the east 629.36 feet of the SE 1/4, Sectign�,4, ^Ts z8, R. 23 in
accordance with plans approved August 1, 1963, filed herewith, and
subject to compliance with the provisions of all applicable City

ordinances and State statutes and rules and regulations of public
authorities having cognizance.

operate a 46 -car off - street parking lot for students on property located
on vacated NUcalester St. between Lincoln and Princeton Aves., as more
fully described in the attached letter of the Zoning Board, in accor-
dance with plans approved August 1, 1963-

Dear Madam:
This is in the matter of the application of Macalester College for a
permit to install and operate a 46 car off - street parking lot for
students on property located on vacated Macalester Street between
Lincoln and Princeton Avenues which is described as the north 120 feet
of Lot 6, Block 7, Macalester Park Addition; all that part of vacated
Macalester Avenue lying east and adjacent to the north 120 feet of
Lot 6, Block 7, Macalester Park Addition and the south 120 feet of the
north 1,284.4 feet of the west 75 feet of the east 629.36 feet of the
SE J Section 4, T. 28, R. 23. The property is zoned "A" residence.
The site is vacant with the exception of a residence proposed to be
removed and has a width of 100 feet and is 320 feet in length, result-
ing in an area of 32,000 square feet. To the south and east is the
Campus; to the west and across a public alley are single - family resi-
dences fronting on Vernon Street; to the north across a public alley
is a parking lot for the Macalester Park Presbyterian Church. Field
investigation discloses no basic objection to the proposal. The Traffic
Engineer recommends approval of the plan which meets the standards for
this type of facility.
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends
the granting of the permit for a 46 car off - street parking lot on the
above described property in accordance with plans approved August 1, 1963.
