Holland — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are 'hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as de- scribed in thg resolution. Adopted by the Council April 2, 1883. ! Approved April 2, 1963. / (April 6, 1963) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from March 16th to March 31st, 1963 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day 6r forty hours per week in doingthe following work: 1) Repairing equipment, various stations. 2) Working extra shifts, various stations. (3) Driving country crew to and from work. (4) Repairing large main breaks, various locations. (5) Setting 61i meter at Gold Medal Beverage Company at 553 No. Fairview. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. 2) Absence of employees on regular shifts. 3) On account of scattered work locations. 4) Necessary to restore service as rapidly as possible. 5) Could not shut water off during regular working hours. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
