WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department will purchase a piece of equipment at a cost of $95,000
to be used in the Crime Lab; and
WfIERAS, the current piece of equipment is not funcfioning, and is the only piece of equipment able to
perform drug tests; and
WHEREAS, current drug testing is being done at great inconvenience at Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, a 20�7 financing and spending ptans need to be established for this expenditure; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor pursuant to Secrion 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does
certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $56,500 in excess of those esrimated in
the 2007 budget; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2007 budget:
