PAUL OFFICE OF HE CITY CLERK COUI�,PIL RESOLJdION- GENERAL FORM COUNCIL NO.21181fi WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter,-the existence of ari emergency during the period from March 16 to March 31, 1963 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing snow from city streets & sanding icy street Tending fire at Asphalt plant on Sundays & holidays Council File No. 211816 —By Milton Rosen — I Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers ate hereby authorized to pay cer- tain employes- in the Department of Public Works for extra employment { as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council March 26, 1963. Approved March 26, 1983. 1 (March 30, 1963) Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessment reports Inspecting city improvement jobs And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streetsofree from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessment reports, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
