Holland — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as de- scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council February 27, 1963. Approved February 27, 1963. (March 2, 1963) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from February 16th to February 28th, 1963 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Handling meter reading cards received in the mail on Saturdays. (2) Supervising repairs to water mains. 3) Completing Water Labor Payroll on Saturday. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) In order to have readings ready for billers on Mondays. 2) Necessary to restore service as soon as possible. (3) Necessary to have pay checks ready before holiday. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
