1 WHEREAS, Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation has contractual relationships with Lancer Hospitality (Lancer) and
2 the Como Zoo and Conservatory Society (Society) related to the operation of the Como Campus; and

4 WHEREAS, City staff work closely with the staff of both organizations on a daily basis in order to accomplish the
5 seamless provision of services at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory; and
6
7 WHEREAS, on a]imited number of occurrences during 2007, Ciry staff will be invited to participate m events, such as
8 the annual staff gathering in January and a Como Town "friends and family" night in June, that are facilitated by Lancer and/or
9 the Society in which food, beverage, and entertainment is provided as an integral part of the event, the cost of which is
10 bome by the Lancer or the Society; and

12 WHEREAS, the public purpose of these events are to: build upon existing working relationships and develop new relationships
13 among individual staff groups, demonstrate appreciation for the ongoing cooperation, and recognize Campus-wide achievements and
14 and establish new goals; and
15
16 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation staff aze authorized to attend/participate in
17 relationship building appreciation, and recognition events hosted by Lancer Hospitality and the Como Zoo and Conservatory
18 Society and accept refreshments and services as associated.
