Whereas, It has been found necessary to change, modify
and amend certain portions of the plans and specifications
heretofore approved for the proposed construction of the GRAND -
GROTTO RELIEF SEWER SYSTEM, as approved January 31, 1963, by
Council Resolution C. F. 211059; now, therefore, upon the re-
commendation of the Commissioner of Public Works, be it
Resolved, That the plans and specifications for the
above named improvement, as approved by the Council, be modified
and amended in accordance with Addendum No. 1, which is attached
to and made a part of this Resolution and of the aforementioned
plans and specifications,and that, further, all interested parties
be notified of this addendum.

The Contractor0s attention is called to page 4 of the Special
Proirisions and the third paragraph entitled "EXISTING UTILITIES ".
Delete paragraph two under sub- paragraph heading WgIer, and insert
the followings
All physical changes to the water mains will be done by
the Water Department crews at no expense to the contractor; however,
the Sewer Contractor shall do all the excavation, including hand
work, necessary for off-setting the water mains where required to
build the sewer and shall include this cost that would include pave-
ment removal and restoration as an incidental item in his lump sum
bid.
Because of a conflict with water services serving the prop-
erties south of Goodrich Avenue, it will be necessary to off-set
approximately 21 services. The Water Department will,renew, using
copper pipe, all existing lead water services serving properties
south of Goodrich Averiue between the water main and the shut -off +
gate at about the south property line.
In advance of the sewer trenching the Water Department
will excavate a hole over the main at the service and a hole in the
south boulevard area. After the Sewer Contractor excavates the trench
for the 36" and 48" RCP stoma sever but before laying the pipe,•the
Water-Department crews will hand dig and build the now service under
the proposed sewer.
The dater Department will furnish all seater service materials
and installation at no cost to the Sewer Contractor.
All pavement removal and sestoration and boulevard restor-
ation on holes created by the Water Department in renewing services
will be done by the Water Department at no cost to the Se%*r Contractor.
