Holland — ,Resolved, -That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay cer- tain employes in the Department of Public Utilities for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council February, 15, 1963. Approved February 15, 1963. (February 23, 1963) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the exis- tence of an emergency during the period from February 1, 1963 to February 15, 1963, inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Utilities for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Making emergency repairs to street lighting circuits, Making air pollution tests, Working on Winter Carnival activities, Supervising activities at the City Market, and WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Overtime work required to restore street lighting service immediately for public safety, Work necessary at irregular hours to complete tests for federal agency, Bus lines re- routed for Winter Carnival parade, City Market in operation on holidays, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
