COMMISSION
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Finance has reported, in accordance
with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency
during the period from November 1 through 15, 1963, whih rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of
Finance for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in
doing the following works parking meter collections, spreading assess-
ments and checking assessment spreads and preparing auditor's report,
and bringing transfer book records up to date; and
WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances: extended sickness of a parking meter collector,
two vacancies in the Bureau of Receipts and Disbursements, and a
shortage of experienced assessment clerks; .
NW, THEREFM, BE IT RESX ED That the proper city officers
are hereby authorized to .pay the employees who performed such work
in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446. _
