RESOLVED, upon due consideration of the pertinent application
of American Can Company, owner of the subject premises situate in the
City of Saint Paul, described as Lots 16, 1T and the vacated alley
adjoining the west of said lots, all being in Block 2, Loverings
Factory, Warehouse and Transfer Property, ,lodat.ed,� on the west
side of Prior Avenue at Hewitt Avenue extended westerly, that a
permit hereby is granted to said applicant for the enlargement of the
existing off- street parking facility now maintained on said premises
and for the maintenance and operation of the same as enlarged, according
to the approved plans therefor herewith filed, and that said applicant
and its successors and assigns, in respect of said premises and the
maintenance and operation of said proposed enlarged off - street harking
facility thereon, shall conform to applicable municipal ordinances and
State statutes and rules and regulations of public authorities having
cognizance.

Dear Madam:
This is in the matter of the application of the American Can Company
for a permit to enlarge an existing parking lot on property located
on the west side of Prior Avenue at Hewitt Avenue extended westerly
which is described as Lots 16, 17 and the vacated alley adjoining the
west of said lots, all being in Block 2, Lovering's Factory, Warehouse
and Transfer Property Addition. The property is zoned Heavy Industry.
The subject property is developed with a single - family residence which
will be removed for the proposed enlargement which will provide 20
additional parking spaces. This enlargement will include fencing with
a seven -foot high chain link fence 'as is the present parking Lot and
will include one new 20 foot driveway to the north on Prior Avenue.
The subject property has a frontage on the west side of No. Prior Avenue
of 79.15 feet and a depth of approximately 135 feet, resulting in an
area of approximately 10,685 square feet. This will increase the park-
ing lot frontage along Prior Avenue to approximately 255 feet. Field
investigation discloses no basic objection to this'proposal as there
is a definite need for additional off- street parking in the area. The
surrounding area uses are predominantly industrial in character. The
Traffic Engineer has approved the plan which meets the standards for
this type of facility.
