LaMont Kaufman, an employe of the City of Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings, sustained personal injury arising out of and in the scope of his employment, and in relation`to which said injury said employe-retained attorneys Kueppers, Strong & Kueppers to represent him in recovery against James R. Hesse, the party allegedly causing the aforesaid injuries; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that a complete and full settlement of ady matters as between said employee-and said James R. Hesse may be consummated in the near future, Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the proper officers of-the City of Saint Paul may be and hereby are authorized and directed to endorse such checks in such amount as may be-presented, bearing the name of the City of Saint Paul in connection vith such settlement, it being the understanding of the City of Saint Paul that said checks will be received from the insurance company for said James R. Hesse, and that the interests of the City for medical expenses paid on behalf of its employee, W. LaMont Kaufman, in the amount of $1569.55, will be paid out of said settlement, less 25 per cent as attorney's fees to Keeppers, Strong & Kueppers, which the City agrees to pay for said recovery; and RESOLVED FURTHER, That should the settlement draft or check as contemplated herein consist of one check in one sum only to cover the claims of said employee, his attorneys and-the City, the proper City officers will be and hereby are authorized to endorse-and accept said draft or check and to prepare appropriate drafts returning to said employee and his attorneys the entire amount of said settlement less those sums rree'ttained by the City as reimbursement for medical expenses paid; COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays Dalghsh Holland Loss Mortinson Peterson Rosen Mr. President, Vavoulis 1oB1 8-82 In Favor Against Adopted by the Council 19— Approved 19— Mayor ,r ORIGINAL TO CITY CLERK PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER CITY OF ST.
