1 WHEREAS, Chapter 2.02 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code authorizes the Divisioo of CoMract and Analysis Services to
2 dispose of surplus city property and sets forth the procedures goveming the sale or donation of such property; and
4 WHEREAS, the Fire DepaRment has received a wntten request from Manzanillo's Volunteer Fire Bngade, a bona fide
5 fratemal nonprofit organization, dated January 2, 2007 (Attachment A) asking that the above mentioned property be donated
6 to the organization to help it carry out its mission; and
8 WHEREAS, ihe ambulance and stretcher may be transferred to such fratemal organization for no consideration; and
�0 WHEREAS, the ambulance and stretcher have a total estimated value of $6,500.00;

12 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the 1999 Ford E450 Ambulance and Stryker Easy Pro 6090 shetcher are no
�3 longer needed to carry out depaRmental functions and are obsolete; and

�5 WHEREAS, the City Council's transfer of the ambulance and stretcherwouid provide the City of Manzanilfo, our Sister City,
16 with means to supplement theirfire suppression capabilities, and

WHEREAS, the donation of such property to the Manzanillo's Volunteer Fire Brigade woufd be a City function, serve a public
purpose and benefit the community as a whole by enhancing and strengthening the City's relat{onship with its Sister City, now
therefore be it � , �
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the donatlon of the above described obsolete property ¢o the
Manzanillo's Volunteer Fire Brigade, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that said organization shall take responsibiiity for removmg the obsolete properiy from City premises
in a manner and in accordance with the time line mutually agreed upon with the Saint Paul Fire Department and shall bear all
costs associated with the removal and transportation of the designated obsolete property and agrees to accept the propeRy
as is; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that upon the donation, the City shall have no further responsibility for said property and shall not
provide any warranty, maintenance, repair, technical assistance, or any other kind of ongoing support, nor assume any costs
that may be related to the ongoing use of the property by the Manzaniflo's Volunteer Fire Brigade.

SUBJECT: Request for Additional Fire Fighting Equipment
As we discussed, the Saint Paul Minnesota/Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico Sister City
Friendship Committee is requesting a paramedic ambulance and stretcher from the City
of Saint Paul Fire and Safety Services Department. This donated vehicle will be driven
by me and Paul Horvath of the Sister City Committee sometime during the month of
February 2007, to the City of Manzanillo, Mexico. The stretcher will be sent sepazately
via Sun Country Airlines in February 2007.
The donation of equipment we are requesting on behalf of the Manzanillo, Mexico
Volunteer Firefighters is:
1999 Ford E-450 Ambulance
Stryker Easy Pro 6090 Stretcher
