RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that
said Council, in behalf of said City and its citizenry, hereby takes
and records official cognizance of the extensive and consistently
meritorious and valuable career of municipal and public service
rendered in the field of education by John M. Gran, Assistant
Superintendent of Schools in charge of business administration, whose
career as a valued public official and educator began in 1936'and
culminated with his death on April 16, 1963, at a time when John M.
Gran had attained the abiding respect, affection, and admiration of his
fellow educators, as well as of his community, for his consistently
superior standards of performance as an educator, administrator, author,
and public servant; and that this Resolution, among other things, shall
be deemed to constitute a "Citation of Extraordinary Merit in Public
Education and Administration" hereby awarded, posthumously, to said
John M. Gran; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the City Clerk be and hereby is
authorized and directed to cause an engrossed copy of,this Resolution
to be prepared and delivered to the surviving spouse of John M. Gran,
decedent, with all convenient speed.
