OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK C U CI R O - GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY SEV R MO 1 SON 6 FEBRUARY 1963 COMMISSIONER— DATE WHEREAS, THE COMMISSIONER OF L.I'BRARIES, AUDITORIUM & CIVIC BUILDINGS HAS REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 53 OF THE CITY CHARTER THE EXISTENCE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1 TO 31, INCLUSIVE, WHICH RENDERED NECESSARY THE EMPLOYMENT OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES, AUDITORIUM & CIVIC BUILDINGS, BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES, FOR MORE THAN EIGHT HOURS PER DAY FOR FORTY HOURS PER WEEK IN DOING THE FOLLOWING WORK: (1) COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, (2) BEING PRESENT DURING EVENING MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC, (3) DISPLAYING THE FLAG AND EMPTYING BOOK RETURN BOX, AND WHEREAS, THE EMERGENCY AROSE BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES: „COWERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULES, BEING PRESENT DURING EVENING MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC, DISPLAYING THE FLAG AND EMPTYING BOOK RETURN BOX, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO PAY THE EMPLOYEES WHO PERFORMED SUCH WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE COUNCIL'S SALARY ORDINANCE No, 6446.
