The Council of the City of -St. Paul has under consideration s
Preliminary Order 204581 , approved November 7, 1961 which
proposes to: reconstruct the sidewalk on the south side of Seventh
St. from Wacouta St. to Rosabel St.
together with all areaways, coal- holes, trapdoors, tunnels and
other underground facilities of every description, and provided
that all permits heretofore granted by said City of St. Paul for
the installation and /or maintenance of such areaways, coal- holes,
trapdoors, tunnels and other underground facilities of every descrip-
tion will be and the same are hereby revoked unless said areaways,
coal- holes, trapdoors, tunnels and other underground facilities of
every description are reconstructed by said permittee on or before a
date which is one year after the date of final approval of this order;
and that, further, the Department of Public Works, through its Chief
Engineer, is hereby authorized and directed to fill in and remove
such areaways, coal- holes, trapdoors, tunnels, and other underground
facilities of every description, the permittees of which areaways, coal -
holes, trapdoors, tunnels and other underground facilities of every
description fail to reconstruct the same to the satisfaction of the
City Engineer on or before the above mentioned date; except where
it is determined that good and sufficient sidewalks now exist.
The estimated cost thereof is $ 0.65 per sq. ft. (Additional work
such as driveways, over - normal excavation or fill, removal of under-
ground facilities, etc., at extra cost.)
You are hereby notified that a public hearing on the advisability of
said improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
and Court House on February 5, 1963 at 10:00 o'clock a.m.
If you wish detailed information regarding the proposed construction
call at the sidewalk department, Room 234, Court House or phone CA. 4-
4612 Extension 429, prior to the day of the hearing.
