COUNCIL RESOLUTION - GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER DATE 2 RESOLVED, That such increases of City employees' wages or salaries granted pursuant to the provisions of proposed Ordinances No. 12395 and No. 12396,pending before the Council, shall be effective as of the 1st day of February, 1963; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that provisions carrying out the purpose and intent of this resolution and evidencing agreement between the employees affected by the aforementioned ordinances and the Council of the City of Saint Paul, to which agreement this Council hereby commits itself, shall be incorporated therein and become a part of the aforementioned ordinances at the time of adoption of said ordinances. PAUL COUNCIL NO. - 9d_ OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK = 11 File No. 211070 _ By Bernard COUNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM ;,l �' s; she Cou4ici1 is considering a adoption of ordinances which have PRESENTED BY ;r.&I given numbers 12395 and 12396, COMMISSIONS DATE c;ch�rrdia nces contemplate adjust- ^' .t. ges so as- to mikes ura�*Yes more ,•I WHEREAS, the Council is considering the adoption of ordinances which have been given numbers 12395 and 12396, which ordinances contemplate adjustment of City wages so as to make City wages and salaries more nearly comparable to salaries and wages paid in industry for comparable types of positions; and WHEREAS,the Council has directed the Civil Service, Bureau to make a study of salaries and wages being paid in' industry in comparison to salaries and wages paid in City employment for comparable types of positions, and the Civil Service Bureau is going forward with such study at the present= time; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the Civil Service Bureau may not complete such study until approximately the llst of April, 1963; and WHEREAS, the City Council, through$ its Personnel Committee, has been conducting hearings relating to City wage rates and has also been conducting discussions and negotiations with City personnel and representatives of various City employee groups pertaining to the establishment of appropriate wage rates; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and intent of this Council that wage increases which it may hereafter determine appropriate and which it effectuates by virtue of the provisions of either or both of the aforementioned ordinances shall be effective from and after the 1st day of February, 1963, since further delay in granting such salary or wage increases pursuant to the provisions of the aforementioned ordinances would be unwarranted, unjust, inequitable and constitute a disservice to those City employees the Council determines are entitled to wage or salary increases; now, therefore, be it,.
