WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has reported in accordance with Section 53 j
of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January 1, 1963
{
to January-31, 1963, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees in the;
Department of Public Safety for more than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week,

in doing the following work= i
Maintenance work in the Bureau of General Administration (Building Maintenance
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
Maintaining a crew because of the illness of three Janitor - Engineers, and It
changing from gas to coal heat in the Public Safety Building.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance withthe provisions of the Council's
Salary Ordinance No. 6446.
