At the time the site for Fire Station No. 19, which is located
at the southeasterly corner of Edgcumbe Road and St. Paul Avenue,
was acquired it was contemplated that the alley which separates
Lot 10, Block 6, Granport Addition from Lots 11, 12, and 13 in
said block would be vacated and re- located to the east of its
present location.
Such vacation will permit this department to consolidate its
site and at the same time provide more suitable access for the
privately owned properties located to the east of the fire sta-
tion by dedicating a twenty foot strip for alley purposes rather
than the sixteen feet as presently platted. This dedication will
permit the creation of a buffer strip two feet wide on each side
and a fourteen foot right -of -way for alley purposes.
I, therefore, recommend that I be authorized to sign the attached
petition for the vacation.
