WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has for many years

maintained that particular stairway known as the Burr Street i
stairway located on Lot 1, Block 13, Stinson's Addition, the ; \
same being at the southerly end of the Burr Street bridge `
crossing the railroad yards of-the Chicago, Minneapolis, St.
Paul and Omaha Railway; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works and the
Bridge Engineer of said City have recommended the removal of
said stairway; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the aforementioned real estate on
whii�h said stairway is located, to -wit: Carl G. Anderson,
has consented to the removal,of said stairway; and
WHEREAS, the public good no longer requires the existence
of said stairway but rather that the interest of the public
requires that the stairway be removed rather than invest fur-
ther considerable sums in renovation and constant maintenance
of said stairways;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Saint Paul that
the Commissioner of Public Works, the Bridge Engineer, and
such other City officials and forces as may be required are
hereby authorized to remove the stairway at the southerly end
of the Burr Street bridge, the same being located on Lot 1,
Block 13, Stinson Addition, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
