To the Honorable Mayor and Council
of the City of Saint Paul
Gentlemen:
PAUL
,)
The playground established in the
block bounded by Fillmore, Fairfield, Eva, and Robert-
son Streets was acquired by the City under the terms
of Chapter 511, saws of 1941, in a convdyance of tax -
forfeited lands dated October 9, 1941, under State
Deed No. 26026. The conveyance restricts the City's
use to public park, parkway, and playground purposes
and provides for a reconveyance to the State in the
event the public use is abandoned.
The Port Authority is currently ac-
quiring the lands in this area for the Riverview Indus-
trial Park. In order to make this block, which-is le-
gally described as Lots 1 through 24, St. Croix Lumber
Co's Re- arrangement of Block 8, Marshall's Addition to
West St. Paul, available to the Authority, I recommend
that the parcels be reconveyed to the State of Minne-
sota, in trust, as provided for by MS 281.25, and that
the reconveyance be submitted to the Commissioner of
Taxation of the State of Minnesota for his approval.
Respectfully submitted
