RESOLVED, that, pursuant to the application of Strand Auto Ramp, Inc.,
owner of the subject premises located at the southeast corner of Eighth
and Wabasha Streets in the City of Saint Paul, described as that part of
Eighth Street vacated and lying easterly of the east line of Wabasha Street
and northerly of Lot 1, Pfeifer's Place Plat 2, and Lots 1 and 2, Pfeifer's
Place Plat 1; also all of Lot 1 and except the southwesterly 5 feet, Lot 2, Pfeifer's
Plat 1, for a permit to extend the existing off - street parking
facility presently maintained and operated on said premises, so that the
car space capacity of the same shall be increased by 24 car parking spaces,
said permit hereby is granted, subject to the condition that the Wabasha
Street driveway presently established for said off - street parking facility
shall be used only for ingress to the same and subject to the further condition
that said extension shall be established, maintained, and operated in
accordance with the approved plans therefor filed herewith and in compliance
with all applicable provisions of municipal ordinances, state statutes and
rules and regulations of public authorities having cognizance.

The City Council requested that you draw a resolution
granting the attached application of Strand Auto Ramp, Inc., for
permit to enlarge an existing parking lot by 24 spaces on property
located at the Southeast corner of Eighth and Wabasha, as more
fully described in the leading paragraph of the attached letter of
H. C. Wieland, and in accordance with plans approved April 25th.,
1963, and subject to the condition that the Wabasha Street driveway
be used for entrance only.

Dear Madam:
This is in the matter of the Strand Auto Ramp Inc. to enlarge an existing
parking lot by 24 spaces on property located at the southeast corner of
Eighth and Wabasha Streets which is described as that part of 8th Street
vacated and lying easterly of the east line of Wabasha Street and north-
erly of Lot 1, Pfeifer's Place Pla�2 and Lots 1 and 2 Pfeifer Place
Plat # 1; also all of Lot 1 and except the southwesterly 5 feet, Lot 2,
Pfeifer's Plat No. 1. The property is zoned commercial.
The subject property is developed in pant with an off - street parking faci-
lity which has existed for many years. The remaining part of the site is
the recently vacated Eighth Street. It is proposed to rearrange and
enlarge the existing parking facility to accommodate approximately 53 cars.
The subject property extends along the entire frontage on the south side
of Eighth Street between Wabasha and Cedar Streets; it has a frontage of
approximately 83 feet on Wabasha Street and approximately 39 feet on the
west side of Cedar Street. Field investigation discloses no basic objec-
tion to the proposed layout which will include two drive -ways off Eight
Street, one from Wabasha Street, and one from Cedar Street. The Traffic
Engineer has reviewed the proposal and recommends approval subject to the
Wabasha Street driveway being for entrance only. The plans meet the
standards for this type of facility.
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the
granting of the permit to enlarge an existing parking lot on the above
described property in accordance with plans approved April 25, 1963 and
subject to the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer pertaining to the
Wabasha Street driveway being for entrance only.
