WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with
Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during
the period from May 1 to May 15, 1963 which rendered necessary the
employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for
more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the
following work:
Taking care of complaints at city yards
Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs
Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers
Making up sidewalk assessment reports
Inspecting city improvement jobs
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Necessity of taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans &
specifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles
and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessment reports and
inspecting,igork done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed -such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
