WHERF.AS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the exist-
ence of an emergency during the period from May 1, 1963 to
May 31, 1963, which rendered necessary the employment of ser-
tain employees in the Department of Public Safety for more
than eight hours per day, or forty hours per week, in doing
the following works
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
NHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Zack of personnel to type reports and keep cur-
rent records up to date.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such
work in accordance with the provisions of the Council ' s Sal-
ary Ordinance No. 6446.
