Holland — COMMISSIONER — DATF Resolved, That the proper City offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay cer- tain + employees in the Department of Public Utilities, -for extra employment c as described in the resolution. I Adopted by the Council May 16, 1963. Approved May 16, 1963. (May 18, 1963) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accor- dance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from May 1, 1963 to May 15, 1963, inclusive which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Utilities for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Making air pollution tests, Making concrete block tests, Supervising activities at the City Market, Making emergency repairs to street lighting circuits, and WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Work necessary at irregular hours to complete tests for federal agency, - Completion of tests requiring continuous attention, Saturday work necessary due to increased activities at the City Market, Overtime work required to restore street lighting service immediately for public safety, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
