for hearing for confirming the cost to the city in connection with the
wrecking and removal of the condemned structure at 435 -441 E. Seventh
St. in the amount of $1,537.32, as more fully set out in the attached
letter of the City Architect.

Dear Council Members:
AA statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on
this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property
known as 435 -441 East Seventh Street described as Lot 7; Block
24, Kittson's Addition.
This property is owned by Ray W. Schnaith Estate c/o 657 East
Fifth Street, Saint Paul,6, Minnesota and Ray A. Schnaith,
Administrator, 2555 Bittersweet Lane, Maplewood, Minnesota.
,In this matter the following resolutions were adopted by the City
Council:_
C.-F. 206092, adopted by the Council February 23, 1962 (published
March 3, 1962) set apublic hearing at 10 A. M. March-27, 1962.
C.F. 206759, adopted by the Council April 12, 1962 (published
April 14., 1962) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost
and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.

C.F. 207847, adopted by the Council June 26, 1962 (published
June 30, 1962) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recreation..
And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove
the building thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary. - -:
for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property.
C.F. 210482, adopted by the Council December 20, 1962 (published-,
December 22, 1962) approved the specifications prepared by this:'- -'
office for the wrecking of this building and authorized the
Purchasing Agent to advettise for bids.:
C.F. 211032, ado ted by the'Council January 29', 1963 (published
February 2, 1963 approved the award of the contract for wrecking
to A. Kamish Co. for the.sum of $1,465.00 in accordance with
specifications and Formal Bid No. 9100.

C.F. 214690, adopted by the Council September 13, 1963 (publish-
ed September 21, 1963) provided that the wrecking expense of
$1,465.00 and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation
And Public Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the
amount of $72.32, making a total of $1,537.32 be paid out of
Wrecking Condemned Buildings 31 G 22, and, in the event said
sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be credited
to 31 G 22.
The building has been satisfactorily wrecked and a registered
bill mailed to the owners.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days'
notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred r;
and to confirm the amount. _The Council resolution confirming
the expense should end with a directive to the City Clerk to
file a statement of expense for the purpose of securing a lien
on the property.
