COMMISSIONER DATE
RESOLVED, That upon the recommendation of the
Corporation Counsel, the proper City officials are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into and execute a written
contract with Systems Engineering, a corporation, for a study
and report on procedures, methods and systems in the office
of the Corporation Counsel, said study and report not to
exceed in cost the sum of $2,500.

As in all other fields of City activities, the
office of the Corporation Counsel has had an increase in
volume of work and a diversification of types of matters
handled.
To the best of my understanding, the office has
never had a professional systems study, and as a result,the
filing systems and, I believe, certain other methods used
in the office, which were adequate in earlier days, are now
outmoded and need revision.
It would seem to us that a professional consultant
is needed to take an objective view of the office and assist
in establishing modern up -to -date methods and systems of
processing the volume of paper work handled in our office.
Having this in mind, I have contacted Systems
Engineering, a local company who does this work, and they
have agreed to perform the required services for a fee not
to exceed $2,500. It is my request of you and my recommendation
that you adopt the attached resolution permitting us to proceed
with this study.
