PAUL��'�'�"courtcl OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE NO,_ COUNCIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM -'.I tlFn No. 214852 —By Severin A. 214652 PUBLISI1ED AJhereas, The Council of the City of t,„it Paul has heretofore entered into rp)1:reement with the T41npesota Hos- eh,lce Associatio•e .,,d th_ !7.1 zb 1411�1 WHEREAS the Council of the City of Saint Paul has heretofore entered into an agreement with the Minnesota Hospital Service Association and the St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company in order to make available to employees of the City of Saint Paul certain health and welfare coverages; and WHEREAS, under the master contracts between the City -and said Health and Welfare group carriers, employees have been authorized to elect the types of coverages desired by the employees with respect to their dependents; and WHEREAS, at the present time, under the there exists only a total of approximately 31 who have taken only the hospital coverage for and approximately-165 City employees who have only surgical, in- hospital medical, and major and elected coverages City employees their dependents elected to take medical coverages; WHEREAS, service by the City group coverage carriers could be improved by elimination of such dependents elective coverages and better administration of the City group program achieved by requiring greater uniformity of total coverage under the City group dependents program; and WHEREAS, modification of the contracts between the City . and its group carriers is desired by said Barriers so-as to obtain uniformity of City group dependents coverage, Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Council authorizes and directs the Corporation Counsel to prepare modifications of the master contracts between the City and its Health and Welfare program carriers so as to require that each employee desiring to be covered under the, City's group dependents coverage program COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays Dalglish Holland Loss Mortinson Peterson Rosen Mr. President, Vavoulis 10A1 8-82 3. r.
