WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accor-
dance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from August 15, 1963 to Aug-
ust 31, 1963 inclusive which rendered necessary the employ -
ment-of certain employees of the Department of Public Util-
ities ford sore than eight hours per day or forty hours per
Week in doing the following work:
Making emergency repairs to street lighting circuits,
Making concrete block tests, ,
Supervising the activities of the City Market,
and
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Overtime work required to restore street lighting
service immediately for public safety,
Completion of tests requiring continuous attention,
Work "made necessary on regular days off because of
. increased activity at,the City Market,' -
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper city officers ace hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work4in accordance with
the provisions.,of the•Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance
8o: 6446.
