Holland — Resolved, That the proper city of- ficers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as de -' scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council March 19, 1963. Approved March 19, 1963. (March 23, 1963) WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from March 1st to March 15th, 1963 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Repairing equipment, various stations. (2) Working extra shifts, various stations. (3) Driving country crew to and from work. 4) Repairing large main breaks, various locations. 5) Emptying sludge basin of sludge. AND WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. 2) Absence of employees on regular shifts. 3) On account of scattered work locations. (4) Necessary to restore service as rapidly as possible. (5) Necessary to do work while Forst is in ground. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city offi>rrs are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
