WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works Asphalt Plant has purchased
the necessary bituminous materials manufactured by the Koppers Company and
has produced from such material approximately 890 tons of a special cold
patch mix called "Komac" for trial and testing purposes, and
WHEREAS, The said mix is not presently being produced commercially in
the Twin Cities area, and
WHEREAS, Various municipalities and other governmental units have indi-
cated a desire to test this mix in sufficient quantity to ascertain its value
to their particular operations, and
WHEREAS, it appears in the general public interest to assist other
governmental units to better determine the merits of the said material,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That until said "Komac'' mix is produced
commercially, the City Council hereby approves the sale by the Department of
Public Works to outside governmental divisions or private parties, upon their
request, an amount of "Komac" mix not to exceed five tons to each such desig-
nated party at the established price charged to the Department of Public Works
street repair operations and that receipts from such sales be credited to the
City Paving Plant, Code 1001 -C.
