No. 726 AN ACT CHAPTER No. RELATING TO THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL AND STATE AND FEDERAL SCHOOL AIDS; AF':ENDING LAMS 1961, CHAPTER 678, SECTION 8. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: Section 1. Laws 1961, Chapter 678, Section 8, is amerc:ad to read: Sec. 8. The city council may temporarily borrow from other city funds, in anticipation of the receipt of special state aid funds credited to the school district in accordance with Subdivision 3, Section 2, to supply deficiencies in school funds, provided that no fund shall be so impaired thereby, that all proper demands thereon cannot be met. At the request of the board of education and with the aooroval of the city comotroller, the city council by unanimous vote may by resolution elect to secure these additional funds under its emergency authority existinMc in the city charter under section 206. A certified copy of such resolution shall be certified by the city clerk to the Ramsey county auditors It shall be the auditor's duty to deposit with the city treasurer such amount of these aids when received as is necessary to pay the principal and interest on these notes before any payments are made to the board of education. Sec. 2. This act shall become effective only after its approval by a majority of the governing body bf the city of Saint Paul and uoon compliance with the provisions of P:iinnesota Statutes, Section 645.021. 1 -'� H.F.
