In the Matter of
Improving MISSISSIPPI STREET from Minnehaha Avenue to York Avenue by
grading, paving, curbing; by constructing and reconstructing sidewalk,

A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council,
having heard all persons; objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement t be made b the said City is.

and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

Pursuant to our recent conversation I hereby request that
the final order in connection with the improving of Mississippi
Street from approximately Minnehaha Avenue to York Avenue be
amended on the day of the hearing to read as follows:
"Mississippi Street from Minnehaha Avenue to south end
of bridge over the Northern Pacific Railway at York Avenue ".
All other portions of this order are apparently correct and
should stand as previously stated.
I have also included herewith a copy of the preliminary esti-
mate as received from the Department of Public Works and
showing therein underlined in red the correct limits of this
improvement.
For ;your information, the first hearing on the final order
is scheduled for June 185 1963.

The Commissioner of Public Works, having had under consideration the pre-
liminary order of the Council, known as Council File No, 211508
approved March 5, 19 63 relative to Improving Mississippi Street
from Minnehaha Avenue to York Avenue by grading, paving, curbing; by constructing
and reconstructing sidewalk, by reconstructing the intersecting alley, street and
driveway returns; by reconstructing existing bridge surfaces; by constructing
storm water drainage facilities; by constructing sewer, water, and gas service
connections; and by doing all other work which is necessary and incidental to
complete said improvement
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reports:
1. The estimated cost thereof is 92.937.52
2. A plan, profile or sketch of said improvement is hereto attached and made
a part hereof.
