WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the exist-
ence of an emergency during the period from August 1, 1963
to August 31, 1963, which rendered necessary the employment
of certain employees in the Department of Public Safety for
more than eight hours per daffy, or forty hours per week, in
doing the following workt
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Lack of personnel to type reports and keep car-
rent records up to date.
THEREFORE SE IT RESOLVED: That the proper city officers 4o
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such
work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Sal-
ary Ordinance No. 6446.
