WHEREAS, in the matter of the Grading and Paving of SHORT
LINE ROAD from Saratoga Street to Hamlin Avenue, Comptroller's
Contract L- 6176 -12, Palda and Sons, Inc., contractor, the
specified date of completion is October 15, 1962, and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has prosecuted the work diligently, but
due =to the construction of additional work -found necessary and
the wrecking and removal of several buildings acquired by the
City for right -of -way purposes, it was not possible to com-
plete the seal coat operations , prior to September 15, the date
specified in the contract afte4which no seal coating can be
done, therefore, be it
RESOLVED,, that the proper City Officials be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an amendment to said con-
tract extending the time of completion to JUNE 30, 1963, pro-
vided however, that this resolution shall have no force or
effect unless the sureties on the Contractor's Bond consent
thereto and file such consent in writing with the City Comp-
troller,, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of St. Paul hereby waives all
claim for liquidated damages and that no engineering and in-
spection costs on this project will be charged to the Con-
tractor for such extended period.
