RIORDAN Council Recorder i July 9, 196 3 The City Council requested that you prepare a resolution (No. 1) setting a date for hearing in the matter of the condemnation of the two and one-half story frame dwelling at 1799 Lincoln Ave., as more fully described in the attached letter of the City Architect. Very truly yours, Cit Clerk U CITY rOF SAINT PAUL- MINNESOTA 8 CITY TY OF SAINT Capital of Minnesota i PAUL BUREAU OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS ALFRED H. SCHROEDER, City Architect 445 City Hall, Zone 2 CApital 4.4612 Ext. 361 July 3, 1963 Hon,., Council City of Saint Paul Gentlemen:- There is a two and one Avenue, Saint Paul 5, Rearrangement of Part half story frame dwelling at 1799 Lincoln on Lot 19, Block 4, Elmer $ Morrison's of Macalester Park. In 1960 certain work was done without a permit, converting the second floor into an apartment in violation also of the Zoning Code. In January 1963 a very badfire occurred here and it would not be advisable to repair this building because of the extensive fire damage. The building has been standing vacant and has become an attractive nuisance"with unsound 6utside stairways and exposed broken glass. It is dangerous to life, limb and adjoining propefty and should be wrecked and removed. The last known record owners are Stephen R. Grevich and Mary Martha Grevich, 1799 Lincoln Avenue. Danger Notices have been posted. This structure should be condemned and we request that a public hearing date be set in accordance with Section 1.07 -2 of the Saint Paul'Legislative Code. Yours truly, Alf d H. Schroeder CI ARCHITECT AHS .. A CC: Fire Prevention Bureau
