INITIATING PROBLEM, ISSUE, OPPRTUNITV (Who, What, When, Whare, Why):
Limited access and owner/tenant occupied buildings restxicted an in-depth investiga-
tion of the various site buildings for asbestos/hazardous materials while the demolition
project was being bid. Following contract award and during demolition operations; signi-
ficant quantities of additional asbestos insulated pipes, transite ceiling panels, and
suspect PCB ballasts were encountered within the block resulting not only in additional
removal costs; but also additional monitoxing(supezvision costs to the Contsactor as a
result of more rigid instructions/requirementis imposed by the MYCA.
NTAGESIFAPPROVED:
The Lawson project/redevelopment would continue uninterrupted with fewer outstanding
cumbersome issues.
