A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is to reconstruct the sidewalk on the easterly side
of Chestnut St. from Seventh St. northerly approx. 200 ft. abutting Lot 9, Blk. 53,
of Rice and Irvine's Add. except where good and sufficient sidewalks now exist
and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

To the Commissioner of Finance of the City of Saint Paul:
The Commissioner of Public Works., having had under consideration the pre-
liminary order of the Council., known as Council File No, 211824
approved- March 26th. 19 63 relative to reconstructing the side-
walk on the easterly side of Chestnut St, from 7th. St. northerly
approximately 200 ft, abutting Lot 9, Block 53, of Rice & Irvine's
Addition.
and having investigated the matters and things referred to therein, hereby reportss
1. The estimated cost thereof is $ 3.25 per lin. ft, for. a. standard side-
walk 5 ft, wide and__ $3.80 per lin, ft, for a standard sidewalk 66 ft,
wide.
