PAUL ICE OF THE CITY CLERK RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM COUNCIL NO FILE 4108, WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from January. 1 to January 15, 1963 which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing snow from city streets & sanding icy streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Taking care of complaints at city yards Servicing municipal equipment Inspecting city improvement jobs And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously,-taking complaints at City Yards, and keeping city equipment in good running condition.
