the City of Saint Paul,
that, in behalf of C its people, official cognizance
hereby is taken and'recorded concerning the meritorious selection
of the Honorable Hubert H. Humphrey, by his Excellency, Lyndon B.
Johnson, President of the United States of America, for nomination
by the 1964 National Convention of the Democratic Party for the
high office of the Vice Presidency of our Nation; and that
mindful ofYls long established reputation therefor and demonstrated
high qualities of erudition and statesmanship of the said Hubert H.
Humphrey and his earnest zeal therefor and effective and unrelenting
service directed to the cause of humanity and the promotion of
civil rights under our Consitutional Form of Government, in common,
with the people of this Nation and those of other Nations of the
civilized World, commendation hereby is extended to the President
and to the said National Convention for said selection and for the
nomination of the Honorable Hubert H. Humphrey as th-, 1964 Democratic
Party Candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States of
America; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that this Council, in behalf of said
City and its people, hereby extends to said Hubert H. Humphrey,
its congratulations upon his said nomination and gives expression
to that which is a matter of world -wide and common knowledge
