THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64,
inclusive, bf the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to
Use Districts, Height Districts, and Rezoning of certain
properties in the City of Saint Paul, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended so as to rezone the following
described property from t1VI Residence District to f1C" Residence
District, to -wit:
"Lots 6 through 9, inclusive, Block 1,
Stewart Ave Addition to the City of St
Paul, Ramsey Co Minn."
situated on the south side of Stewart Avenue between Sumac and
Bay Streets in Saint Paul.
Sec. 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall', take effect and be in
force upon itspassage, approval and publication.

This is in the matter of the petition of Stephen F. Conrpy et al to
rezone from 11B11 to "C" residence property located on the south side
of Stewart Avenue between Sumac and Bay Streets which is'described
as Lots 6 through 9 inclusive, Block 1, Stewart Avenue Addition.
On July 21, 1964, the Commissioner of Finance reported the petition
sufficient with the owners of 18 of a possible 25 (72 %) tracts of
land within the prescribed 100 foot radius having signed the petition.
The subject property has a frontage of 156 feet on Stewart Avenue and
an area of approximately 22,620 square feet.
The Board of Zoning considered this matter at its regular meeting
on August 6, 1964. The Staff pointed out the various uses in the area
-ranging from single - family to low density multi - residential uses.
There are industrial uses to the east and west, and it is felt that
the proposed multi- residential use would be compatible with the exist-
ing uses in the area. Therefore, the Board of Zoning recommends the
granting of the petition to rezone the above described property to a
1IC11 Residence District.
