WHEREAS, Robert L. Ames, the City Architect, having requested the
City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the
expense incurred by the City of Saint Paullin removing a dangerous structure
at 245 West Congress Street, more particularly described as East 1/2 of
Charlton Street Vacated adjoining and Lots 25 and 26, Block 199, Irvine ?s
Addition to West St. Paul, the City Council held a public hearing on the
4th day of August, 1961+10 to consider the expense and to confirm the amount
thereof, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the City Council, pursuant to C. F. No. 214787,
- approved September 20, 1963, published September 28, 1963, set a public hearing
to consider removing the dangerous structure, and the City Council by C. F.
No. 215197, approved October 23, 1963, published October 26, 1963, ordered
the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the owner, occupant,
or other person in control thereof, and the City Council by C. F. No. 215494,
approved November 15, 1963, published November 23, 1963, directed the Commis-
sioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings to enter upon the premises
and wreck and remove the building thereon and do any and all things therein
necessary for the protection of:life, limb and adjoining property, and that
the City of Saint Paul has incurred the expense of $527.25 in-removing said
structure; and
~ WHEREAS, it appears that Benedict A. Everling, 481 Clinton Avenue,

We are attaching hereto a copy of Council File No. 219710 ap-
proved by the City Council on August 21, 1964 and to be pub-
lished August 29, 1964.
This has reference to the property at 245 W. Congress Street,
Saint Paul 7, described as East 1/2 of Charlton Street Vacated
Adjoining and Lots 25 and 26, Block 199, Irvine's Addition to
West Saint Paul, in the names of
Benedict A. Everling, 481 Clinton Ave., Saint Paul 7
Mrs. Theodore Buchite, 235 W. Congress Street, Saint Paul 7
and confirms the expense incurred by the City in the condemna-
tion and wrecking of a two story frame two family dwelling and
a garage, which amounted to $527.25.
As you will note, the final paragraph of this resolution directs
the City Clerk to file in the Office of the Register of Deeds
a statement of expense incurred, for the purpose of securing a
lien on the property, in accordance-with Section 1.07 -7 of the
Saint Paul Legislative Code.
