RESOLUTION
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pipe Tsades, which is a group of pipefitting, plumb+ng and sprinkler fitting
unions from Minnesota, including three unions in the City of Saint Paul; and

WHEREAS, the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), a non-profit,
code writing organization, is sponsoring a conference entitled the "IAPMO - 77th Annual Education and
Business Conference" which is intended for government officials enforcing plumbing and mechanical
codes, designers and conCracCors and will be ofFering training and information regardin9 the development
and enforcement of plumbing and mechanical codes and new technology; and
10 WHEREAS, the conference begins on September 23, 2006 and ends on September 30, Z006 at the
i l Double Tree Hotel in Oakbrook, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pipe Trades wishes to encourage St. Paul's participation in IAPMO by
sponsoring an inspector to attend this conference; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the conference including transportation and meals is $2,178.00; and
WHEREAS, Bii� Daly, a Mechanical Inspector employed by the City of Saint Paul's Office of License,
Inspections, and Environmental Protection (LIEP), is a member of the IAPMO Technical Committee which
will review and make recommendations on proposed changes to the Uniform Mechanical Code; and
WHEREAS, Bill Daly wiil also attend training sessions to learn about the installation, inspection and
operation of inechanical systems which wil( assist LIEP inspectors to stay informed on the latest
developments in the mechanical industry;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul along with the Office of License,
Inspections, and Environmental Protection gratefully accept this gift to pay for Bill Daly to attend the
"IAPMO - 77th Annual Education and Business Conference" in Oakbrook, Illinois.
