accordance with Section 53 of ithe City Charter, the existence of an emergency duri.n.g the
period from March lst through March 31, 1964 which rendered necessary tYe employment of
certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditori.um and Civic Buildings,
Bureau of Auditorium, for more� than. eight hours per d�y or forty hours per week in
doing the following work: �,

switchboard durin.g ecents �}eld in the buildin.g.
and WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the followin.g facts an.d circumstances:

No other trained help available for work during conventions, concerts, road
shows, hockey games, wrestling matches, travelogues arid other events held in
the buildi.ag, this time includes Saturd�rs, Sundays and Holidays.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVID, that, the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to pr�y the
empl�yees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Coun.cil's
